Igor Andreev
Igor Andreev is an internationally active concert pianist, event organiser, accompanist and piano assistant at the Universities of the Arts in Bern and Lucerne. Born in Kaliningrad (formerly Königsberg), Russia, Igor Andreev discovered his passion for the piano at the age of five and was accepted at the St. Petersburg Conservatory at an early age. He continued his studies at the University of the Arts in Bern in the class of Prof. Tomasz Herbut, where he received the Tschumi Prize as best graduate in 2017. Igor’s skill and enthusiasm for music have been rewarded with numerous prizes in major competitions such as the Concours de Genève, UNISA in South Africa, the Hamamatsu Piano Competition in Japan and the Rina Sala Gallo Competition in Italy. Igor performs as a soloist and chamber musician in concert halls and festivals around the world, such as Victoria Hall, Casino Bern, Tonhalle Zurich, Auditorium Milano, St. Petersburg Kapella, Gstaad Menuhin Festival, Interlaken Classics and Murten Classics. As organiser, he directs the ‘Piano Trio Fest’ in Bern and the new ensemble ‘Sinfonietta Bern’. Igor is also a founding member and pianist of the Bern Piano Trio (Berner Klaviertrio).
