The 26th Edition is postponed to 2022

Due to the continued spread of Covid-19, the current guidelines issued by health officials and the restrictions introduced to eradicate the disease worldwide, the Music Association Rina Sala Gallo has decided to postpone the 2020 International Piano Competition to 2022.

The decision was taken in agreement with the Mayor of Monza Dario Allevi, the members of the jury and institutional partners. Registration (deadline April 30th) and rounds (September 27th – October 3rd) are therefore suspended.

The President of the Association Alessandra Garbagnati says:

It is with great regret that we are forced to cancel this edition for which our staff have been working really hard for many months. The current global operational difficulties caused by Covid-19, enormously affect both the planning of the entire competition and the participation of competitors, which is made harded as this coincides with the upcoming deadline for applications. We are saddened by this development and understand the disappointment that this causes to our Rina Sala Gallo family all over the world, from our faithful supporters to the exceptional participants. We are sure we will return stronger for the next edition, with the hope that the spiral of suffering we are all currently enduring will soon end and we can return to normal.
